Heart of Yorkshire Education Group are looking for an enthusiastic Workshop Trainer to work in our Construction department. The key purpose of the role isto train and assess learners involved in practical activity associated with Electrical Installation qualification Levels 1 to 3. All practical activity is held in the workshop environment within the Construction Building Services Curriculum area.

Based at Selby College within rural North Yorkshire, you will have the opportunity to deliver high quality teaching to motivated students who are willing to learn.

The Role:
To independently instruct learners in practical activity in the Construction workshops.

To assess learner work and provide both formative and summative feedback to ensure each learner makes progress and achieves their potential in the workshop activity. Ensuring all records of assessment comply with the requirements of the department's internal quality systems.

To implement appropriate Health and Safety and quality management and assurance systems in accordance with College policy.

To support with the dismantling of work prepared by students to maintain operational status of the workshops.

To support when required with the maintenance of workshops.

To support and ensure adequate stock levels of materials are maintained.

The Person:
You will hold a Level 3 qualification or equivalent in Electrical Installation.

The ideal candidate will hold an Assessors Award (A1 or D32/D33) and a PTLLS qualification, candidates without these qualifications will be considered but must be willing to work towards them.

A wide range of experience gained within the Construction Industry is essential for this role.

Candidates with experience of working within a training or Further Education environment will have a distinct advantage.

The ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with all students is essential.

Terms and Conditions:
Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Holidays: 37 days per annum, plus statutory bank holidays

Salary: £23,426 to £25,270

All work in the College involves some degree of responsibility for safeguarding children, although the extent of that responsibility will vary according to the nature of the role. A DBS check is a requirement for this role.
