SEMH School Teaching Assistant in Wigan (WN2)

Long-Term Teaching Assistant for a Specialist SEMH School in Wigan (WN2) This school is based in Platt Bridge in Wigan and has a fantastic, friendly and welcoming staffing team. They are hoping to find an experienced, like-minded teaching assistant to start in a long term position from September 2022. The school caters for children aged 11-18 and are currently struggling with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and require specialist environments and additional support. The school provides this specialist environment through specialist facilities and specialist staff capable of providing a higher level of support, managing challenging behaviour and adapting learning to meet the needs of the students. The school is looking for strong teaching assistants with a great work ethic, brilliant personality and fantastic communication skills to come and work with these children to support in their education and ultimately shape the students futures and lives. This is done by staff having the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with the students they work with to be able to positively influence them in not just their education, but their day-to-day lives. The ideal Teaching Assistant will have: Experience working with Children and Young People. Experience with SEMH (preferred but not essential). Experience managing Behaviours that Challenge (preferred but not essential). Great communication skills. The initiative, ability and desire to creatively support students in lessons.
