School Administrator

Primary School Admin Assistant Lambeth September 2022 Timeplan is working with a fantastic Primary school in Lambeth looking to expand their team with a new administrative Assistant. They are looking for long-term, full-time assistant to support across the school. The ideal candidate will be slot into the office team confidently and will have previous school-based admin experience. Working hours will be 8:00am to 4:00pm. The post holder will be responsible for the school's reception service and to provide a range of administrative support services, as a member of the administration team, to ensure the efficient and effective day-to-day running of the school. As the first point of contact at the school, and with the emphasis on customer service and care, the post holder will be required to provide effective and efficient operation of the school's busy switchboard, answering, and directing incoming calls, taking messages for unavailable staff, forwarding messages, and placing outside calls. You will also be expected to deal with external and internal enquiries, either via the switchboard or at reception and welcome visitors to the school; be responsible for the distribution of incoming post to departments and individuals, as well as the despatch of outgoing post; provide administrative support to the school, working flexibly across a range of functions. Duties will include: Welcoming visitors to the school and follow the schools' Child Protection procedures for all visitors Operating the school switchboard/ being a key member of the administration team. Responding to telephone/email enquiries from families and public. Receiving parcels and deliveries; franking outgoing post and arranging special deliveries when necessary Ensure that up-to-date records for Student Leave permission letters are appropriately maintained Be responsible for the organisation of whole-school mailings Support the administration team in carrying out the day-to-day administrative requirements of the Senior Leadership Team and teaching staff Administrative duties such as producing letter, emails, photocopying, filing, etc. To understand Data Protection and Confidentiality To be flexible and highly organised To work to deadlines in a calm and confident manner when under pressure To use SIMS daily for school administration To use all other school database facilities to carry out various tasks (e.g., Parent Mail and other IT systems) The school is a lovely, inclusive site looking for a staff member who shares their ethos and outlook of mutual respect for all staff and students.
