Programme Manager – Specialising in IT

College location:             College Group - East Surrey College / John Ruskin College

Salary:                             £42,000 – £45,000 (Subject to qualifications, skills and experience)

Hours:                             Full time, 08:45-17:00 Monday – Friday (37 hours/week)

We are currently seeking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic Programme Manager to help manage our Business & Professional Studies and Technical & Vocational departments. In this exciting role you will have responsibility for the effective management, co-ordination and planning of the courses/learning programmes within the department. We are looking to appoint someone with a proven track record in IT as a specialism, and good Industry experience and knowledge in Cyber Security and Cloud Based computing.

The ideal candidate would have previous knowledge and experience in management or coordination and internal & external quality assurance process and procedure.

Working closely with the Director of Learning you will manage and organise the efficient day to day running of the department, ensuring that the student experience is maintained for all learners. You will manage department budgets, timetable courses/staff, review staff utilisation, and support HR process in regards to staff management.

You will also carry out staff observations, support student experience and behaviour management and personally still deliver an agreed amount of teaching hours in your chosen specialism.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Degree in relevant subject specialism
  • Teaching qualification Level 5 or above
  • Maths & English GCSE / Level 2 equivalent
  • Industry experience essential and knowledge in the following areas - Cyber Security and Cloud Based Computing is desirable.
  • Experience of co-ordinating a subject area or acting as a course leader
  • A demonstrable track record of improving success rates and standards within a relevant curriculum area.
  • Highly organised with skills management, team working and multi-tasking
  • Experience of Quality assurance
