Derby College is looking to recruit a Curriculum Support Assistant to join us in the Bricklaying department. You will be flexible, self-motivated and dedicated to student achievement. You will support the teaching of subjects in a practical workshop environment in accordance with health and safety guidelines and ensure that the practical working environment is organised and resourced to an appropriate level. A good understanding of practical tasks is required along with a desire to enhance learner's practical skills and support curriculum staff with their teaching.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Assisting the Built Environment staff during the practical based tasks.
  • Prepare for class practical activities and afterwards clean equipment.
  • Contributing to the design, development and maintenance of specialist resources.
  • Offering professional guidance, assistance and support to lecturers on the practical aspects of the curriculum.
  • Developing and maintaining a strong working knowledge of departmental practical activities and working effectively with staff when developing new practical activities.

Essential Experience and Qualifications:
  • Health and Safety
  • First Aid
  • Level 2 Maths and English or a willingness to work towards
  • Level 2 qualification(s) or higher in Construction related subject
  • Full Driving Licence
