The Fashion and Textile Museum, Newham College, is looking for an Exhibitions and Touring Manager.


The Fashion and Textile Museum, London was founded in 2003, by icon of British design, Dame Zandra Rhodes. Today, the Museum is operated by Newham College, London – one of Europe’s largest further education colleges. Situated in the heart of fashionable Bermondsey Village, the Museum is housed in a beautiful and distinctive building, designed by renowned Mexican architect, Ricardo Legorreta. The Museum is committed to presenting varied, creative, and engaging exhibitions, alongside an exciting selection of educational courses, talks, events and workshops.


This post project manages and oversees the development of the Fashion and Textile Museum’s exhibition programme, working with stakeholders, contractors, and the Museum team to ensure high quality displays both in the Museum and at international host venues. The Museum develops original content exhibitions and operates a successful, wide-ranging touring programme across the UK and the world. As part of a small team, this post plays an essential part in creating the visitor experience that the Fashion and Textile Museum is known for.


We are looking for a creative all-rounder with a keen interest in museums and design, and an ability to hit the ground running, to provide fixed-term maternity cover. The successful candidate will be taking on a busy and successful post at the Museum.


  • Working on our coming exhibition Andy Warhol: The Textiles, including exhibition development and installation & deinstallation periods.
  • Working on touring exhibitions such us Kaffe Fassett: The Power of Pattern, Knitwear: Chanel to Westwood and others.
  • Availability to travel to install/deinstall touring exhibitions in the UK and internationally.
