School Chef

Yarrow Heights School is a mixed 7-16, local authority funded, SEN day school for children. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Second Chef to join our catering team. You will work alongside the Head Chef and work with the school s catering team to provide a high-quality catering service to staff and pupils at Yarrow Heights School. Our catering team are friendly & approachable with a can-do attitude, motivated by a passion for quality and great service delivery. As a flexible and reliable team player, with excellent communication skills, your working style will support and enhance this ethos. This will include: Duties Preparing and cooking food items to the specifications determined by the Head of Operations: Being responsible for the provision of meals of excellent standards whilst working within the constraints of the catering budget and to a minimum wastage policy Working to high standards of hygiene and basic food hygiene Be confident in delivering high class food in partnership with current catering staff. Experience & Background The ideal candidate will need to meet the following criteria: NVQ Level 2 in Catering Experience within a high-volume catering environment Have a friendly & approachable character Be reliable Enjoy working as a part of a team Self-motivated with the ability to work in a pressurised environment Motivated by a passion for quality and great service delivery A flexible team player A 'Can-do' attitude High personal hygiene standard A smart and tidy appearance is imperative to this role Hours of Work Your normal working hours shall be 45 hrs pw . Mondays to Fridays 42 Weeks a year Salary £25,000 - £28,000 (depending on experience) annual starting salary based on the above hours and weeks of work.
