School Groundsperson

School Groundsperson Permanent - Full Time All Year Round 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Fri with an hour's unpaid lunchbreak Grade 3 Responsible for the upkeep and general maintenance of the sports pitches, grounds and gardens. KEY DUTIES: Preparation and maintenance of nominated sports and amenity surfaces and assist with the initial marking and over marking of the sport pitches, running tracks and field events. Responsible for undertaking general gardening duties on site. Ensure lawn and grass areas are maintained, cultivated and repaired. Keep borders, thoroughfares and highway footpaths clear and free from weeds and litter. Carry out gritting, salt spreading and snow clearing on school premises. Assist with the erection and dismantling of sports equipment. Ensure grounds and gardens comply with the appropriate health and safety legislation and conduct risk assessments when required. Report faulty or damaged appliances, equipment or any potential hazards. Ensure all equipment, machinery and buildings are clean, safe to use and undertake basic in-house repairs. Be a team player who is capable of occasional lone working whilst using their initiative.
