About the role 

Activate Learning are now looking for someone with a genuine passion for their subject to deliver exciting and inspirational lessons to our learners on construction/trades vocational pathways based at Reading College.

This post provides an excellent opportunity for a teacher with passion and drive who is committed to enabling our students to unlock their potential and switch on to the power of learning. 

This is an exciting and rewarding position and the successful applicant will be making a difference to our students lives whilst working in an extremely supportive team.


What do you need to be a successful construction/trades professional at Activate Learning?

Ideally, you'll have worked in the trades and have gained relevant subject qualifications, and have a passion for building skills of the future generation.  You will also have strong organisation skills coupled with the ability to prioritise workloads and will benefit from being part of a supportive team, working in a varied and interesting role with a variety of opportunities for career development.  

Candidates with experience in further education, distance learning and higher apprenticeships are also encouraged.  We also welcome applications from those seeking full or part position. 

A background in any of the vocational options below would be an advantage

  • Carpentry

In addition, you will need to have a flexible approach, coupled with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. You will demonstrate the ability to engage and develop students and role model the attributes that we develop within our learners.
