Role: SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Nottinghamshire, Primary Schools in Mansfield area Trust: Greenwood Academy Trust Contract Type: Supply Start Date: January 2023 Rate of pay: £75-80 per day The Supply Register are delighted to be working as a managed serviced provider working exclusively with Greenwood Academy Trust in Nottinghamshire, Mansfield to provide SEN Teaching Assistants. We are currently looking for a number of SEN Teaching Assistants to join our current bank staff! We are proudly working with Greenwood Academy Trust to provide Primary School SEN Teaching Assistants to the below schools: Greenwood Academy Trust - Schools: Skegby Junior & Mansfield Primary What is a SEN Teaching Assistant? A teaching assistant provides support to teachers in the classroom. This may include working directly with teachers to plan lessons or mark work, or it may be working one-on-one with students to assist with their learning. What are the responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant? Preparing the classroom for lessons and tidying it up afterwards Assisting with lesson plans Supporting children across the curriculum Providing extra assistance to children with special needs Recording and reporting a student s progress to the teacher Marking work Motivating and encouraging students Supervising students during school trips or activities Attending meetings Looking after children who are unwell or upset Looking after children's physical, social and emotional welfare Creating a stimulating environment Adapt support according to needs of children Higher level teaching assistants may also take additional responsibilities, such as: Teaching classes on their own Covering planned absences Managing other learning support staff Please note, cover/supply work can be booked in advance or required on a day-to-day basis. Candidates should be willing to be available to pick up work first thing in the morning Requirements: Hold a L2 or L3 TA qualification or have experience working with young people Experience working with SEND students is desirable Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills Have high expectations of all pupils Have high expectations of themselves and work collaboratively with other staff Demonstrate an excellent understanding and commitment to Safeguarding You must either have a enhanced DBS or be willing to process a new one which costs £55 - this is essential Why Should You Apply?
