Salary: £22,722 per annum pro rata, actual £11,361

Hours: 18.5 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainer/ Assessor within our Academy of Professional Education, Training and Development due to the continually expanding portfolio of Teaching Assistant qualifications. The successful candidate will be training, assessing and supporting an effective Internal Quality Assurance process at Derby College.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Trainer/Assessor who is passionate about supporting and collaborating on the development of Teacher Assistant training. A flexible approach to using a range of assessment methods is crucial and experience of OneFile would be beneficial. You will be a team player and have the opportunity to work in a supportive environment by making a significant contribution to the provision.

Role Responsibilities:
  • To carry out recruitment activities, including information/advice/guidance (IAG), enrolment, induction, initial assessment and individual learning plans (ILP) in negotiation with learners (groups/1-1)
  • To facilitate access to relevant, current information advice and guidance (IAG)
  • To perform role of Trainer/ Assessor in accordance with awarding body guidelines and occupational assessment strategy and comply with quality standards and procedures and relevant funding organisation guidance
  • To contribute to the coordination of IQA activity within the Teaching Assistant courses in preparation for organisational requirement or those of the awarding organisation
  • To deliver training (1-1/group) as and when required and evaluate the effectiveness of all training to continually improve own practice

Essential Qualifications/Experience:
  • Training experience
  • Experience of assessment in the workplace
  • Vocational qualification at Level 3 or above
  • Level 2 English
  • Level 2 Maths
