Job Title: Instructor – Academy of Land and Environment – Agriculture
Salary: £22,961 - £24,119 (A25-A28) per annum
Hours: 37 hours, full time
Status: Permanent
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a practical instructor to join the Academy of Land and Environment Agricultural Department.
You will be expected to undertake practical teaching associated with academy requirements including working within our well- established agriculture department. The role may include working across the full academy including our horticulture and countryside provision. You will plan and prepare resources for teaching and ensure work areas, tools and equipment are stored and maintained correctly.
Land-based practical experience is a pre-requisite of this role as you will work in a busy curriculum academy supporting students, staff and liaising with all customers and stakeholders. You will possess excellent communication skills and be able to plan, prioritise and manage your workload efficiently and effectively. Excellent IT, teamwork and communication skills as well as attention to detail are a pre-requisite for this position.
As a member of the academy, you will consistently role model the college PRIDE values, ensuring that high standards and excellent customer service are evidenced at all times. There will be a requirement to utilise the college farm and wider estate effectively to enhance student engagement, practical skill development and satisfaction. You will also undertake assessments other related activities which contributes towards the high quality, effective and relevant learning experience expected by our students. As a member of the academy team, you will support commercial income generation as required and to work flexibly to support the business and this may involve some evening and weekend work.
Please note this role constitutes ‘regulated activity’ as defined by the Protection of Freedom Act 2012. The successful candidate will therefore be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check with barred list information prior to starting employment. You must have the right to work in the UK and will be required to provide evidence to support this.
