School Receptionist

Role: School Receptionist Location: North London Hours: Monday to Friday, 9.30am - 6.00pm (with some flexibility) Salary: Up to £30,500 depending on experience Type: Permanent Start Date: To start in February 2023 Purpose of the School Receptionist role: As the School Receptionist your role will be to provide general and administrative support to the school, working in the School Office supporting the Junior School Secretary and the Senior Management Team. Main Responsibilities of the School Receptionist: To be the first point of contact for all visitors to the Junior School and to provide information and assistance as required. Maintain security by ensuring all visitors sign in and out, confirming relevant ID checks have been made. To be the primary point of contact via telephone and email, acting upon messages in the appropriate manner, prioritising where necessary To deal with parent, staff and pupil queries and forwarding and sending correspondence where applicable. To maintain and update pupil and parent data on the school management system, ensuring all details (including consents and contact information) are kept up to date and relevant staff are informed of any key changes. To maintain and update pupil files including scanning documentation where necessary. To support staff in bookings for events, including but not limited to trips, workshops and book any required transport. Any other administrative duties that may be required including but not limited to filing, photocopying and correspondence to parents. To provide administrative support for the Clubs Programme including but not limited to preparing club spreadsheets, maintenance of registers. Support the Junior School Secretary and Admissions Department with the delivery of the 4+ admissions process and Chance vacancies Provide additional administrative support to the Junior School Secretary for 4+/Chance vacancies, including maintenance of pupil files, preparation of assessment documentation, and any other administration which may be required. To ensure that the office area is organised, tidy and looks professional To support the delivery of annual flu vaccinations including correspondence with parents, staff and school nurses and any administration required. The ideal School Receptionist will have: An enhanced DBS, registered in the update service Experience in the same or similar role Excellent administrative and IT skills - Google Suite including Docs and Sheets, Microsoft Office and Apple Mac An ability to create and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children Ability to deal with sensitive information in a confidential manner Ability to understand and convey information in a clear, effective and (when required) sensitive manner with staff, pupils and parents at all levels
