The Role
Working in the Sheffield College Sixth Form, you will be working with A level students to support them with their A level programme and progression. As a Personal Tutor, you will be an excellent role model to our students, supporting them to become independent learners that can reflect on their learning and find their own solutions.
You will provide outstanding wrap around support with a focus on the students’ welfare, retention, attendance and progress.
You will ensure this support through effective 1:1 reviews, and the delivery of the SHAPE Your Future program (Staying Safe, Health & Well-being, Active Citizenship, Progression & Careers and Equality Matters) in group tutorials, so providing learners with the opportunity to develop a wider range of skills required to develop their careers. You will also have involvement in the UCAS process, supporting learners with their application to university.
The post will be of interest to those who want to work in an educational setting and who may wish to eventually pursue a career in teaching.
You will be reporting to the Head of Student Experience (Sheffield Sixth Form) and work closely with teaching and support staff as well as liaising with parents and external organisations when appropriate.
