Lecturer in Media

The School of Performance, Music and Media is looking for a highly motivated lecturer specialising in Digital Media Production to join their successful team.

You should have experience of video production, plus a thorough understanding of media theory (textual analysis, media audiences, ownership and control of the modern British Media industry).

Due to the nature of the courses to be taught, it is important that the successful candidate has a thorough understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite and able to shoot video on Canon DSLR and Blackmagic Pocket 4K. Experience of the roles within a TV Studio and Multi-camera set up would be desirable. The successful candidate would have an understanding of modern Social Media content creation practices, marketing and analytics.

Experience of personal tutoring including target setting and delivery are also desirable. You should also be committed to providing prompt, detailed assessment of learner work.

Ideally you will hold a current teaching qualification but mentoring and training will be available for those who haven’t. You should also hold qualifications in your own discipline and have clear evidence of continued professional development.

The successful candidate will teach across multiple levels and courses within the Media Department.

You’ll have the full support of a dynamic team and opportunities to bring your ideas to the role. Training and development are at the heart of everything we do so you’ll be actively encouraged to upskill.

You can access a wide range of discounts and benefits, free on-site parking, family friendly leave policies including generous maternity and paternity leave.  We offer a generous pension scheme, up to 35 days holiday plus bank holidays and additional time off at Christmas.

The closing date for applications is Friday 3rd February 2023.

Interviews will be taking place week commencing 20th February 2023.
