School: Independent School Location: Surrey/Berkshire Role: Director of Digital Learning Start Date: September 2023 Salary: £43,000 - £50,000 - Dependent on experience and qualifications A leading independent school in Surrey, near to Berkshire are seeking an engaging and excellent Director of Digital Learning from September 2023. This is a full time and permanent role. Whilst academic and all round excellence is pursued, the Head recognises the importance of creating a supportive family atmosphere. The school's house system provides a caring pastoral environment in which pupils learn to consider the rights and needs of their peers. The Head is seeking a excellent classroom practitioner of Computer Science to teach this specialist subject across the school and up to Year 8. You will be responsible for leading and developing all areas of this curriculum area and ensuring it is embedded throughout teaching and learning. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to craft their own curriculum to introduce pupils to coding and the associated problem-solving and critical thinking that the subject lends itself towards. The successful candidate will support the Head Teacher in the planning and implementation of digital strategy for the wider School. Computer Science will be a new subject to the school for Years 6-8 from September developing on the skills learnt in IT from Years 3 -5.
