Full-time Media Course Leader with photography/video as a specialism
What is the role?
We want you to join our team of Course Leaders and Lecturers to help deliver and develop our Digital Media curriculum at our Centre in Norwich. Working with the centre team, and Pathway Manager for Media, you will take responsibility for the development and delivery of our provision, from coordinating resources and managing student activities to developing industry links and course marketing, working at the core of the student experience. You will work among experienced, passionate tutors as well as within a support service provided by our Central Team.
You will ideally have experience working in the media industry with current and relevant knowledge, and awareness of practices and workflow in the industry. Whilst photography will be your specialism, you will have knowledge of digital audio/video, social networking, animation, web design, etc; and up-to-date knowledge of the subject area, syllabus requirements and appropriate teaching techniques. An awareness of the requirements of awarding bodies is desirable. You will have an understanding of equality and diversity within the curriculum, barriers to learning and strategies to overcome them.
You will deliver inclusive, engaging and creative content through taught sessions across the week. You will mark and assess learner projects, setting high expectations and motivating them to be the best that they can be. You will be a role model, providing our learners with innovative, practical and employment-led training.
You will be educated to a degree level or equivalent, and will ideally hold a recognised teaching qualification, or be willing to obtain one within a reasonable time (we will support, guide and fund you through this if necessary).
No candidate will meet every single desired requirement. If your experience looks a little different from what we've identified and you think you can bring value to the role, we'd love to learn more about you!
Diversity and open expression are fundamental to creativity. We are committed to promoting a culture of diversity and inclusivity for all our employees and potential employees. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. In recognition of our commitment, we would particularly encourage applications from groups who are currently under-represented, which are those from the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities and People with Disabilities, the Neurodiverse and Women.
