An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Practical Instructor in Animal Management at Enfield, working directly with our students and animals.
The successful candidate will be able to carry out the day-to-day routine care of the College's animal stock to include cleaning out of accommodation, provision of feed, water, bedding, nesting material, daily health checks, training, handling and exercising. Additionally, they will be ordering materials and maintaining high standards in accordance to and over what is set by relevant legislation and regulations. They will be liaising internally with other staff as appropriate with regard to animal activities and co-operating to maintain continuity of care during weekends and holidays.
In addition, you will be carrying out a range of educational activities with students learning practical animal management from Entry Level to Level 3 and Higher Education, including different demonstrations and technical instructions to. They will be carrying out practical assessments of students, in line with awarding body requirements, while completing all necessary records. Additionally, they will be supervising and allocating tasks for college students carrying out their practical duties in our animal areas.
The ideal candidate will hold at least a Level 3 qualification in Animal Management, and a range of current experience caring for reptiles, rodents, birds, and a range of livestock animals. They will also be willing take shared responsibility for the health and welfare of the College's animal stock, including contribution to weekend, holiday and emergency cover rotas as required.
