About the role:

Activate Business School has an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Consultant to develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients, to introduce commercial training and apprenticeship programmes that increase capability within the client’s workforce.

We’re at an exciting and rapid stage of our development as we look to grow our commercial offering nationally. As a consultative B2B sales professional, you will be responsible for the creation and engagement of new leads, developing relationships with new clients to fully understand their requirements and identify cross-selling opportunities to maximise revenue and achieve individual and team targets.

You will have input into the creation of sales and marketing collateral to support lead generation and sales, both hard copy and for our website and mailing. Activate Business School has such a wide variety of target audiences that there will be lots of opportunities to be creative, develop ideas and to challenge your current skills in new and exciting ways.

This is a hybrid role, working remotely with occasional requirement to travel. You will have a base campus in Oxfordshire, Berkshire or Surrey for team and client meetings.

 

What do you need to be successful as a Business Development Consultant at Activate Learning?

This role would be ideal for someone who has experience of working in a commercial sales, target driven environment that would now like to consider a more diverse approach to the sales world, whilst maintaining a good track record in achieving excellent results.

You will be passionate in consultative and strategic selling, confident in writing successful proposals and tenders to lead to new business, and able to demonstrate a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

About you:

  • Experience in consultative selling, ideally within a B2B sales environment.
  • Experience building client relationships face to face and remotely
  • Ability to sell training programmes and qualifications
  • Excellent IT skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook 
  • Proactive, self-motivated and driven
  • Able to work collaboratively with colleagues, stakeholders and external partners at all levels.

You will also have a solution-focused, innovative approach to work, with the ability to think outside the box and will benefit from being part of a supportive team, working in a varied and interesting role with a variety of opportunities for career development.
