The current Counselling programmes at Kingston College sit within the Wellbeing section, which developed in 2022 as a result of our success in delivering Counselling programmes at outstanding standards. The Counselling provision includes a BA (Hons) Integrative Relational Counselling degree, a Mental Health degree and study programme and part time adult Level 2 and Level 3 introductory courses, as well as a Level 4 and Level 5 Diploma with CPCAB.
We are now seeking two Lecturers;
- 1 x Lecturer - Counselling, Level 2-4 (0.8 FTE) - £27,601 - £33,600 per annum
- 1 x Lecturer - Counselling, Level 4-6 (0.7 FTE) - £24,151 - £29,400 per annum
The
Lecturer - Counselling (Level 2-4) will primarily teach on the Levels 2, 3 and 4 Counselling adult part time day courses, as well as the Level 3 Mental Health study programme.
We are in the process of developing a progression route on the Level 2 and Level 3 courses with CPCAB, as well as the Mental Health study programme. You will be involved in these projects - so if you have a passion for developing educational programmes at entry levels for future Counsellors and Mental Health Practitioners, this could be the perfect next step for you!
The
Lecturer - Counselling (Level 4-6) will primarily teach on the Levels 5 and 4 adult part time day courses, as well as the Counselling BA programme.
Both posts require someone who is a professionally registered Psychotherapist and/or Counsellor with proven post qualification experience. You'll be able to assess students' work and practical skills and demonstrate a strong commitment to the ethics of Counselling and teaching.
Should you not hold a teaching qualification, we ask that you are willing to obtain one in line with current regulations and needs of awarding/validating bodies.
To be considered for the Level 4-6 post, you will also need to hold professional recognition as a Counselling Supervisor. One of our Level 5 programmes is dedicated to working with adolescents and young adults, hence it is important that you can demonstrate robust professional experience in working with this age group, in a therapeutic setting and having offered clinical or professional supervision and/or mentoring in this setting.
