SEN ASD Autism Learning Support Assistant LSA Coach Childcare Special Educational Needs School in Cardiff Your new School Hays are recruiting a Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant in Cardiff for a Special Educational Needs School which caters for pupils aged 3 - 11, the majority of which possess ASD or a related additional learning need. The school takes great care in creating a supportive and inclusive environment from the top down, with clear communication between the teaching staff and leadership team. The school are eager to expand their staff team with the introduction of passionate, hardworking, caring, and personable individuals. The role itself shall include working with small groups in classes of 4-8 alongside 3 other members of staff, as well as ad-hoc 1:1 responsibilities. Some of the students are non-verbal or possess severe learning difficulties, as well as the related behaviour challenges, which means patience and respect are key to this role. Your new role. The role is confirmed long-term for an immediate start following the May / June Half Term, working 5 days a week. Additionally, there are similar positions within this school, as well as a sister school, with Part-Time working hours and September start dates. Duties relating to this role include but are not limited to: Working with small groups of students aged 3-11 with additional learning needs. Demonstrating high levels of patience and empathy when dealing with potentially challenging behaviour. Creating a safe and enjoyable learning environment for the children. Ensuring that the students are supported, cared for, and engaged throughout the school day. Assisting teachers as they implement their lesson plans. Working closely as part of a team with other members of teaching staff. What you'll need to succeed To be considered for this role, it is required that you possess at least 40 days of relevant experience over the course of the last 2 - 3 years.
