At Randstad Student Support we have new and exciting opportunity recruiting for experienced Counsellors to work with students at Universities in the Manchester area. The role is mainly remote but also has the option to be involved in the team with face to face support at Salford University campus. This position will be starting in Septemeber and is part-time, supporting students with Counselling, using short-term intervention to guide the student towards self development methods over a 5 week period for each student. Finding proactive solutions, using an empathetic approach to understand and meet the emotional, mental and social needs of students to help them create stability for their well-being and university life. Benefits: 28 days holiday pay pro rata - perfect for the summer holidays and Christmas breaks £28.00 Per Hour (slightly more for face to face support) Counselling sessions expected to be 3 days per week, with 5 one hour sessions per day Flexible working hours, as you chose when you work Can work from the comfort of your own home as all is remote Responsibilities Provide therapeutic counselling support to students experiencing emotional and mental health issues based on their own unique needs. Working 1:1 certain issues such as transition, anxiety, self help, self-esteem, eating distress, procrastination and exam panic. Ability to emphasise with the students over their personal and emotional needs while Working alongside with the student to promote self help, using self help tools. Deliver follow up work outside of the practice, displaying caseload management, such as referrals to other teams within the university / other organisations, communicating with GP services. Working in a team using a multi-disciplinary approach consulting with other practitioners. Making risk assessments in line with service's crisis and risk assessment protocols Maintaining a confidentiality approach at all times when working with the students or discussing any information with any other members of staff. Sign-post individual's to the relevant member of the multidisciplinary team if for example the student will be covered by the Equality Act definition of disability, so the student can be assisted in applying for disability allowance. Contribute to the Counselling and Mental Health Support Team by actively participating in support allocations meetings, case discussion and meeting and training opportunities. Requirements Educated to postgraduate Diploma or Masters Level in counselling, psychotherapy or counselling psychology and hold an accredited professional body membership Accredited Membership of the BACP or UKCP (required) A DBS to cover vulnerable adults Undertake regular individual clinical supervision Keep up to date with developments in the post holders area of practice and contribute to improvements of operations in their section. Experience supporting young people is required, ideally support in higher education.
