We are recruiting an Assessor to join our excellent Technology Department at Derby College. This is a fantastic opportunity to pass on your specialist knowledge and prepare our apprentices for the next phase of their lives. You will be joining an experienced, forward-thinking and vibrant department that has a clear focus on the apprentice learning experience and seeing them achieve great results.
You will hold at least a Level 3 relevant to engineering and have recent industry experience within mechatronics. An Assessor (A1 Award) and/or Internal Verifier (V1 Award) qualification is desirable though we will provide full support to help you achieve these qualifications if you do not hold them.

You will deliver high-quality training and assessment experience to our apprentices, adding your experience and skills to the team and using this to benefit and inspire the future workforce. Within this role you will build relationships with local employers.
This role is based at The Roundhouse campus where you will work on and off site and visit local employer sites. Job Purpose - To provide a high-quality learning experience, which will encourage retention and achievement, and ensure all learners are challenged, engaged and making progress every day.
- To motivate, support and progress a caseload of learners to achieve identified outcomes including all component parts of the Apprenticeship Frameworks, within the agreed timeframes.
- To ensure all delivery practices meet the requirements of both internal and external quality and compliance frameworks.
- To provide an excellent service and contribution to building long-term relationships with employers.
- To identify learner trends to ensure learning aims meet the demand of the marketplace.
Essential Qualifications: - Qualifications relevant to at least one occupational area within the multi-trade discipline (level 3 upwards)
- An awareness and working knowledge of the relevant construction disciplines within the Property Maintenance qualification.
- Recent and relevant occupational experience in the qualifications being assessed.
- A1 / TAQA Assessors qualification or willingness to work towards
