Curriculum Manager - Basic Skills (English & Maths)

Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover)

South Thames College are looking to appoint a dynamic and highly motivated Curriculum Manager for Basic Skills (English & Maths).

Joining the School Management Team in driving improvements forwards and managing a high performing teaching team, you will ensure all current and future students receive a first-class experience that enables them to progress and attain their qualifications, developing long-lasting learning and employability skills.

You will monitor and support subject specialists within the Basic Skills team to prioritise and meet deadlines, and coordinate Teaching, Learning and Assessment standards, including conducting lesson observations, learning walks, setting action plans to support staff in developing their teaching and learning profile as needed.

We're looking for someone who holds a degree or relevant professional qualification in an appropriate subject and who has excellent current teaching skills, recognised as a good or outstanding teacher. You will have demonstrable experience of managing a team of teachers and have sound knowledge of the GCSE and Functional Skills English curriculum. Able to work collaboratively with teaching and management teams to further improve our achievement and retention, you will be comfortable working with adult learners and have excellent organisational skills to allow you to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced educational environment.

This is a fixed term contract for maternity cover, to start in January 2024.
