Suffolk New College is currently seeking a health and safety professional to actively promote health and safety across all campuses at the College. As part of this exciting and challenging role you will be required to be the point of contact for all health and safety issues with a key role in raising awareness and ensuring all staff and students acknowledge and embrace their individual responsibility for health and safety.

You will report to the Head of Estates & Facilities Manager reviewing, developing and maintaining the health and safety management system, carrying out internal inspections of curriculum and support areas and working with academic Directors and Heads of Department to raise health & safety within their areas to exemplary levels.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable speaking to all staff, identifying and explaining the practical application of health and safety, motivating staff to embed health and safety within their curriculum and support areas and someone who is equally comfortable reporting to senior managers on health and safety trends, legislative requirements and recommendations.

With responsibilities across all four of the Suffolk New College campuses, you will be required to travel between campuses and therefore you will need to hold a full driving license and have access to a vehicle. You should also hold the National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (NEBOSH), accompanied by Level 2 or equivalent in Maths and English alongside up-to-date knowledge of all relevant Health and Safety Legislation.  A first aid training qualification is desirable.

At Suffolk New College, we promote the culture of BeSNC.  Implementing BeSNC is not just a choice; it's a commitment to providing the best possible environment for our learners to thrive. It's a commitment to nurturing an inclusive and supportive community where each student, staff and community member can reach their full potential.
