SEND Teaching Assistant Primary School in North Tyneside

We re looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic Mainstream Primary School in North Tyneside. This role involves providing 1:1 support and small group interventions to children with SEND, helping them reach their full potential in a nurturing, inclusive environment.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will provide crucial support to children with special educational needs. Your responsibilities will include:

• 1:1 support for a Reception age pupil with:

  • Complex communication difficulties

  • Lower learning and cognition skills

  • Short attention span

  • Occasional low mood and frustrations

• Assisting the class teacher in delivering inclusive learning activities.

• Helping manage behaviour and create a safe and engaging learning environment.

• Supporting the child to reach their academic and personal potential.

We re looking for someone who has:

• Experience working with children, especially those with SEND.

• A passion for supporting primary school pupils in their learning and development.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.

• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
