Apprenticeship Trainers/Assessors - Scarborough Sixth Form College
From May 2018 onwards we are seeking organised and self-motivated individuals to train and assess apprentices following a variety of programmes at levels 2 to 5.
Apprenticeships are a new addition to the College’s highly successful provision, and we are keen to emulate our exciting offer. It is envisaged that apprenticeship delivery will be a strong feature of the College’s future.
Applications are welcome from:
- either experienced or newly-qualified trainers / assessors
- individuals with experience of training in one or more of the following areas
- Business Administration / HR Support
- Customer Service
- Adult Care / Healthcare
Trainers and Assessors will utilise their experience and knowledge to guide learners through their qualifications and assist them to achieve their full potential in their work place. It is expected that Trainers and Assessors will have the skills and expertise to deliver high-quality training to groups or individuals, either at College or in the workplace. The role will involve assessment of learning activities and competences shown in the workplace, as well as liaising closely with, and supporting, both the apprentice and employer. As part of this role Trainers and Assessors will enable learners to display the best of their work and abilities as evidence for their portfolio or showcase attainment. Trainers and Assessors will provide feedback to learners in order to ensure they achieve their qualification in a timely manner through effective planning and target setting/reviews. An essential part of this role is to develop positive relationship with employers.
The successful candidate will be appointed to the relevant College support staff pay scales for Trainers and Assessors, within the range £23,851 p.a. to £29,765 p.a. for full-time full-year staff, dependent on skills and experience. Actual salary will be pro-rata to actual hours and to the actual length of the contract.
Main Terms & Conditions
The positions being offered cover a range of possible contracts. The hours and nature of the contract (permanent or otherwise) will be determined by the expected level of demand for apprenticeships, and will be agreed on an individual basis. The contract will vary and is dependent upon numbers or apprenticeships in the given skill areas. Exact working times will be discussed at interview.
