With a turnover of £20m and c.10, 000 learners, Wirral Metropolitan College is the largest provider of 16-18 education, adult education, training and apprenticeships in Wirral. The College operates from four excellent sites predominately in Birkenhead and was rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted in 2017. The College has a strong infrastructure and is well on the way to achieving its vision to be Outstanding.
We are currently seeking to appoint an Assistant Principal Business Development and Apprenticeships to lead our Employer Services’ Team. As part of the Senior Leadership Team and reporting directly to the Vice Principal you will play a significant part in the effective delivery of the College’s Apprenticeship and Traineeship function through the achievement of the College’s targets with respect to recruitment, quality outcomes for students and financial performance. You will be instrumental in controlling the College’s business development responding to employer needs and building/maintain the College’s business networks. In addition, you will effectively manage the College’s subcontractor provision and one-off education contracts.
The successful candidate will have a passion for excellence and a proven track record of developing and delivering employer-led education and training. You will be adept at leading staff teams and have a sound understanding of overseeing the recruitment and delivery of Apprenticeship frameworks.
This post will involve working 35 hours per week, which may include occasional evening work and will be based at our Wirral Waters Campus in Birkenhead.
