The Rycotewood Furniture Centre of the Creative Arts faculty is seeking to appoint inspirational Furniture Craft / machine teachers to lead our vocational and apprenticeship programme of study and deliver specialist teaching to students across all levels (1-6) of Furniture making.
The Rycotewood Furniture Centre has an 80 year history of training and educating the furniture industry and is part of Activate Learning, based in the centre of Oxford at the City of Oxford College.
Our many industry partners endorse our high quality reputation and seek our graduate / apprentices.
We are recruiting new craftspeople to join a highly skilled team of designers and makers.
We are seeking two positions where it is essential that each candidate can evidence their industry experience and demonstrate high communication skills in leadership.
You will also have a passion for Furniture making and have a sound educational knowledge of apprenticeship and furniture making / wood machine teaching.
You must enjoy working collaboratively with a team of dedicated professionals, our industry partners and our energetic learners.
To be successful in this role you will be experienced in teaching students post-16 and have a track record of success in raising standards of student attainment.
To be considered for this post you will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Experience of designing and delivering Furniture and design programmes of study
- A teaching qualification or equivalent
- A degree in a relevant subject area (or willingness to undertake one).
- The ability to act as a role model
- Respect for the aims and values of Activate Learning
