CEO and Principal
York College is synonymous with excellence in education and training. Ranked as Yorkshire’s highest performing Further Education college and rated as one of the most successful colleges in the country, we have recently delivered an impressive set of results across all areas of our provision, including spectacular A Level and technical education outcomes. Ofsted graded us as Outstanding in our 2013 inspection and we also enjoy an Outstanding financial health rating.
We offer a broad range of programmes for 16-19 year olds, alongside a high performing Higher Education offer and numerous opportunities for adults and apprentices. We work in partnership with employers and community partners to create opportunities, change lives and positively impact economic success in our area. We have made significant investment in college facilities, including a £60m new build and a recent Construction Skills Centre.
Our comprehensive offer, inspirational teaching and first-class learning environment ensure that we achieve our mission of providing a life enhancing educational experience. York College is well known for its unwavering commitment to high quality and our ability to deliver results, yet above all we are a values-driven organisation which effectively develops and motivates a committed, talented workforce.
This is a superb opportunity for a new CEO and Principal to lead an ambitious college, following the retirement of our current Principal, who has led the college from strength to strength. With an established platform for success, we are keen to push the boundaries of excellence and innovation in education and training, while optimising our potential for growth and diversification.
We are seeking a leader of the highest calibre, who is visible both internally and externally, and who can inspire our students and staff while nurturing strong links outside the college. Our new CEO and Principal will develop and embed strategies which position York College at the forefront of post-16 education in our region, ensure our ongoing excellence in quality and financial sustainability, and create opportunities for future growth.
You may be a current or aspiring Principal within the Further Education sector or a senior leader within the public and not for profit or commercial arenas; we are flexible about sector background, as long as you share our passion for delivering ongoing excellence and are committed to the spirit of our values. Enterprising and forward-looking, you will understand financial strategy and deliver continued financial sustainability in challenging times, while building effective relationships to develop new opportunities. An impactful leader, you will have the drive, credibility and gravitas to promote aspiration and deliver the highest levels of quality to sustain our pre-eminent reputation.
