HR Administrator (Recruitment, Retention & Engagement)

We are currently recruiting for a skilled administrator with a proactive and can-do attitude to join our Human Resources team to provide support, specifically focussed on the Recruitment and Retention of staff at The Bedford College Group.

As our HR Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our service delivery and students through:

  • Ensuring compliance and adherence to the Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance at all times, undertaking appropriate pre-employment checking for all new employees.
  • Proactively tracking and monitoring the return of candidate documentation and pre-employment checks post offer
  • Ensuring that outstanding documentation is chased frequently and candidates are in a position to start ahead of their proposed commencement dates.
  • Inputting new starters on to the HR system prior to their commencement date, ensuring that employee, employment data and details of their pre-employment vetting checks are logged within system
  • Effectively communicating details of new starters to key stakeholders on commencement.
  • Ensuring the maintenance of information relating to our casual staff bank.

Our ideal candidates will have experience of working as an administrator in a busy office environment, with strong Microsoft Office knowledge and ability.  The successful candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communicative skills, alongside a good all round education to include a Maths & English GCSE Grades 9-4 /A*-C or equivalent Level 2 qualification.

This role will be suited to someone looking to start a career or move into Human Resources, as the successful candidate will be expected to enrol onto the Level 3 Apprenticeship Framework, obtaining the CIPD Level 3 qualification.  The cost of which is met by The Bedford College Group.

Contract Type – Bedford College Professional Services Ltd (BCPS Ltd)

  • 40 hours per week (1.0 FTE) / 52 weeks per year
  • £18,500 per annum
  • 25 days holiday per annum, plus bank holidays

An Enhanced DBS check will be required and you will be required to declare any convictions, cautions, reprimands or final warnings, which would not be filtered in line with current guidance.
