Lecturer in Computing

An opportunity has arisen for a proactive and experienced individual to join the School in the role of Lecturer in Computing.

We are looking for a well-motivated and enthusiastic Lecturer to join our committed and successful team. The role would be ideal for someone seeking to have a positive effect on the lives and learning experience of our Computing students.


This role would involve teaching Level 3 IT, Foundation Degree in Computing and leading our HND Computing (Cybersecurity & Video Game). The successful applicant will need to have the necessary skills to teach Further and Higher education learners and will be part of a large team thriving in a dynamic learning environment.

 

You will be capable of developing a wide-range of learning materials which engage and stimulate a diverse range of students with differing needs. Programming experience is a must however curriculum can be adjusted to take into account individual skillsets.

Our lecturers must be proactive and able to support students to work with other teams, across the College. You should have in-depth knowledge of Cyber Security and working with the Head of School supporting the management and development of the HND Computing (Cybersecurity) and Foundation Degree in Computing.

You will be initially required to course lead our HND Computing provision. In addition to this, there will be opportunities to teach Programming, Games Development, Computer Research Project and Software Development.

A relevant degree is a requirement and a teaching qualification and/or industry experience is desirable, although full training to obtain this will be provided. You will have an ability to promote, support and embed English and maths skills within planning and delivery of all teaching.

The successful candidate will join the School of Public Services, Science & Computing, reporting to Head of School Alex Bodian.
