An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer in Sociology


Job Title:              Lecturer in Sociology

Hours:                  3 hours teaching per week (4.5 total employment)

Teaching:            Tuesday 9:15am – 12:15pm

Contract:             Fixed term ending summer 2020

You will need to be able to transfer your passion for Sociology to a group of learners to national standards enabling them to achieve qualifications. Set work, assess and grade submissions in line with awarding body criteria and requirements. Own your course and look for opportunities to develop the learning experience and introduce additional learning interventions.


  • You will need to be qualified to degree level in Sociology or a related subject.
  • Post-graduate Teaching Qualification (Or be willing to undertake studies towards a PGCE. Full support from the College will be given for this)
  • Commitment to the development of the department.
  • Professional experience gained
