We are looking for a student focussed individual to provide advice and guidance to learners on a one to one basis in relation to pastoral, safeguarding and child protection issues as well as monitoring their individual tracking and progress of their study. You will be highly organised and have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, ideally with previous experience of dealing with college aged learners and a working knowledge of current issues and developments affecting pastoral services, safeguarding and child protection. You will need to have a minimum of a level 3 qualification and it would be advantageous if you have counselling or coaching qualifications. We would require you to have safeguarding knowledge and experience of dealing with Child Protection referrals plus be able to deliver workshops relevant to this role. The post holder will be required to work at our Southend/Stephenson Road Campuses, so will need to be able to travel there Term Time: Anyone starting midway through the academic year will have their monthly salary slightly reduced, as staff need to have worked a certain length of time through the academic year to be able to receive continued payment through the summer, when you won't be expected to work. The actual figure would be calculated once a start date is confirmed. At the beginning of the next academic year the monthly salary will revert to 1/12th of the whole pro rata salary quoted.
