Instructor in Engineering Apprenticeships (Mechanical)

We have great opportunity based at our Brunel Road campus for an Instructor in Engineering Apprenticeships (Mechanical) to become a key member of our Engineering Apprenticeships department.

As an Instructor in Engineering Apprenticeships (Mechanical), you will play a pivotal role in the success of our students through:

  • Preparing, delivering and assessing subject specialism on engineering courses.  The areas of focus will be machining (manual & CNC) and general engineering.
  • Providing skill instruction and assessment to students in workshop and practical areas
  • Preparing and delivering practical learning materials to learners across a range of courses
  • Overseeing all workshops and practical areas across the programme area with responsibility for Health and Safety
  • Providing technical support in workshop and classroom areas

Our ideal candidates will have experience of working within engineering (particularly electrical wiring and commissioning, maintenance and automation.) and experience of teaching engineering apprenticeships at levels 2 and 3, alongside the following qualifications:

  • Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject
  • Level 3 Award in Education and Training
  • Assessor (A1) award or equivalent
  • English and mathematics or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent or willingness to achieve English and mathematics Level 2 within one year

Contract Type –Bedford College Professional Services Ltd (BCPS Ltd)

40 hours per week (1.0 FTE) / 52 weeks per year

£20,400- £29,667 per annum, pro rata, dependent on qualifications and experience

25 days holiday per annum, pro rata
