Join Wigan & Leigh College on our journey to outstanding

Continually striving for excellence and a strong Grade 2 College, Wigan & Leigh College is well underway on its journey to become Outstanding. With over 6,500 students and a turnover of £26m, the College is in a strong position to continue to move forward and grow.

The College has distinct ambitions to expand its choice of programmes and services to meet the needs of the local community and support the economic transformation of Wigan and surrounding areas.

The College has created a community that encourages all students to enhance their learning through wider opportunities and support services; to maximise their achievements and secure progression onto further study and employment.

The College has a dedicated Business Services Team and is in a secure position to grow this provision to continue to meet the needs of the local and regional community.

We are looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Installation Trainer/Assessor to our highly motivated and creative team working with a number of Blue Chip organisations within the local area.

An Electrical Installation Trainer/Assessor is required to carry out workplace assessments, reviews and set action plans for apprentices, including SMART Targets and deliver on professional qualifications at Levels 3 including embedding of Functional Skills (English and Maths as required). The role will also include IQA duties within an existing team and developing the College’s offer in conjunction with employer partners and awarding bodies.

Suitable candidates will hold a recognised assessment qualification ((TAQA, A1, V1 or equivalent), teaching qualification is desirable) and with suitable sector specific qualifications including a work based NVQ at L3. Ideally the successful candidate will be confident in all aspects of workplace assessment with relation to the Electrical installation sector.

The College reserves the right to interview for this post should we receive suitable candidates prior to the closing date.

To comply with legislation, you are required to obtain a DBS check for your role. We will be asking Protocol National Ltd/Esafeguarding Ltd to undertake this process on our behalf.
