15 hours per week for 38 weeks (term-time only) Wednesday & Friday, 8:30am to 5pm
This is an exciting opportunity to join a brand new team delivering the Hairdressing curriculum at our Halesworth campus. This will include supporting teaching staff delivering on our Level 1 Introduction to the Hair and Beauty Sector and Level 2 Hairdressing. The units include both external assessment and internal assessment and assignments.
You will assist the teaching staff with activities in our hairdressing salon, including using specialist equipment, managing and distributing of stock and supporting operational practice and health and safety within the salon. You will have effective communication and customer service skills, enjoy working with young people and have the ability to build good working relationships. You will also be required to undertake a First Aid qualification.
You should have an understanding of working within a salon environment and health and safety practices accompanied by a good standard of education including maths and English at level 2 or equivalent.
This post is based at our new centre in Halesworth. You will be part of a small team offering great vocational teaching in a specialist learning environment and ensuring our students receive an exception student experience. Linking in with the teams at our Leiston campus and the main Ipswich campus, there may be occasional requirement to travel to these locations for meetings and Continued Professional Development.
