University Centre Peterborough (UCP) was formed in 2007 and is a joint venture between Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) and Peterborough Regional College (PRC). The University Centre offers a broad portfolio of courses covering a range of subject areas and we are rapidly developing specialisms in a number of key areas.
We currently have a full time, fixed term contract opportunity for a Graduate Employability and Progression Officer in the university centre’s Employer Hub.
This is a 32 month fixed term role as University Centre Peterborough (UCP) has been awarded £300,000 funding for a new and innovative project aimed at developing relationships with key local businesses to increase local employment opportunities for its graduates.
The successful candidate will support the Graduate Employability and Progression Lead in identifying, planning, managing and monitoring opportunities for undergraduates and postgraduates to develop Graduate Outcomes and maximise the employability of UCP students.
This role will primarily focus upon developing and growing local graduate employment opportunities. This is a student and employer facing role; a key part of the role will include staffing an Employability Hub to provide support and guidance to students, graduates, staff and employers.
The working hours will usually be 8.30 am to 5.00 pm from Monday to Thursday and 8.30 am to 4.30 pm on Friday. However, the working hours will vary on occasions dependent on the needs of the university centre. Evening and weekend work may be required due to events such as employer visits, Open Days, student events and Graduation.
The successful candidate will have a good level of education to a minimum of level 2 in English, Maths and IT, along with a higher education degree.Experience of employability, recruitment practices, working with small-medium enterprises or campaign promotion is desirable. Knowledge of graduate employability, labour markets, cloud based office packages as well as good communication and interpersonal skills alongside the ability to work independently in a customer focused environment are a necessity in this role.
