We are looking for an energetic leader to help young people aged 16-18 prepare for work. Ideally you will have some engineering or building trade skills.
You will be working with learners who are not suited to full time mainstream courses, often very interesting and exceptional individuals.
You will be helping prepare learners to apply for a job or apprenticeship and will be developing their people skills, their reliability and the resilience required to enter a job or apprenticeship. You will be covering areas like CV writing, interview preparation and job search.
Learners will often need help with their Maths and English and you will also be managing and monitoring work experience placements.
Learners will have an opportunity to have taster sessions in basic Engineering, Construction and Motor Vehicle and experience of delivering this type of learning is desirable.
You will need good computer skills as you will be tracking students using online systems. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
Ideally applicants will have taught or delivered training or worked with this age group; however, Teacher training will be provided to the successful applicant, if required. You will need to be an enthusiastic and motivated individual who can engage with students to ensure that they reach their full potential.
