Teacher of Art & Design

[Full-Time - 37 hours per week, permanent to start ASAP]

Derby College Group is looking to recruit a highly skilled individual to deliver A level Art & Design at our Joseph Wright Centre and possibly other vocational and adult courses in your specialism. You will be a dedicated and motivated professional, providing outstanding teaching and learning. In addition, you will be qualified at degree level in either Fine Art or a related arts subject area and hold a recognised Level 5/6 teaching qualification (PGCE/CertEd) or working towards achieving this.

Applicants will need to have experience in delivering in art and design A levels and an understanding of the importance of teaching the fundamental technical skills of drawing and formal design, as the foundation of A level success.

As an experienced Coordinator you'll also contribute to the development of new strategies to improve the delivery and quality of teaching and learning on our Creative Industries provision.

Excellent administration and interpersonal skills together with a commitment to working effectively as part of a team are also essential in this role.

The successful candidate will also be expected to maintain their strong industry links, develop collaborative activities with industry partners, add to the department's research and knowledge and enhance students' employability prospects in the creative industries.
