The Isle of Wight is a special place – we are the largest Island in England with a community of 141,000 residents, connected to the UK mainland by ferry.

The Isle of Wight College is a big part of Island life and we are the only general further education provider. We are looking for a successful and experienced manager to join our senior management team, with the vision and expertise to lead our curriculum provision.

Your challenge will be to deliver a diverse range of curriculum while ensuring both quality and efficiency. You will need to be passionate in leading innovation on curriculum delivery and be focused on meeting the current and future needs of local employers. Above all, learners will be at the heart of every decision you make - ensuring each student has the best opportunity to succeed and progress.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Significant experience of working in the further education sector, including at management level.
  • A proven track record in delivering outstanding results and using data to drive performance improvement.
  • The experience and leadership qualities to inspire other managers and to ensure a high performing and student-focused culture across all staff.
  • An ability to innovate and demonstrate entrepreneurship skills in response to the changing needs of employers and the local community. You will also be highly effective in anticipating and responding to changes in the national education policy agenda and qualification frameworks.

What can we offer you?

In addition to a salary and pension package our offer includes a wide range of benefits:

  • A negotiable relocation allowance.
  • A comprehensive training and induction package.
  • Access to ongoing CPD including the opportunity for higher-level study in senior leadership.
  • A personal mentor from within the existing senior leadership team.
  • An external coach to provide independent guidance and advice in your new role.
