Due to continued growth in our Computing and Digital Technologies department, we are looking to recruit two new lecturers for our Eastbourne and Lewes campuses.

We are looking for:

Ambitious lecturers to take the lead roles in leading and developing our exciting and popular range of courses in our Computing department at our Eastbourne and Lewes Campuses.

Both posts are full time.


Applicants should have an in depth knowledge of computing with strong programming skills in C# or Java (lead language here is C#). Alternatively extensive experience and a high level of confidence in programming Object Oriented Python and sufficient confidence or experience to be able to program in, VB.net, HTML, CSS & JavaScript. Some relevant experience in using game development software such as Unity or related development environments would be a distinct advantage together with a broad knowledge of mobile technologies, cyber security and project management methodologies.


We would be particularly interested in applicants who have previous experience of teaching to A Level standard and previous experience of teaching Level 3 BTEC or OCR would be a real advantage.

Applicants will ideally be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant subject, and have a teaching qualification. We are also very interested to hear from applicants who have a high degree of industry experience and are willing to work towards a teaching qualification.

As an excellent communicator, you will be able to break down concepts and devise practical ways to secure a deep understanding with learners.

An ability to work with a very diverse range of students is an asset. We have extremely bright students who need a high level of challenge along with some who may need additional support. This role will allow you to inspire the next generation of computer science professionals and games developers.

You will be highly motivated and enthusiastic about teaching and learning and be able to stretch the most able students, have in depth knowledge of emerging trends in the digital industries where industry experience would be advantageous.

The people we are looking for will be involved in promoting our courses through collaboration with local schools as well as holding extracurricular events such as coding clubs etc. Computer Science and Games Development are essential parts of our Digital Technology Department, which is an exciting and fast moving area. You should be prepared to investigate new technologies and integrate them into the curriculum and contribute to the development of new provision in the area.

The department is looking to expand with new and innovative courses at Level 4 and 5 as progression routes for our learners. The college, as early adopters of the new T Levels, are launching these exciting new qualifications from 2020.

The people appointed will take leading roles in these developments.
