We have a great opportunity based at Bedfordshire campus for a Facilities Assistant to become a key member of our Estates and Facilities department.

As a Facilities Assistant, you will play a key part in supporting the success of our students through:

Providing a range of services to support all users of the College facilities, you will patrol college premises and property on foot, providing a visible security presence.  You will manage and monitor the use of college car parks, ensuring that parking is only for authorised users.  A portering service will also be provided between and to college departments.  Additionally, you will support to keep the college and surrounding areas free from litter.

Our ideal candidates will have demonstrable experience in a Facilities or other similar operational role; with evidence of high performance in previous roles being required and experience of working with the public and experience of working with young people. Additional Experience, in an education environment alongside the following qualifications:

  • A good standard of education including literacy and numeracy to level 2
  • First Aid at work qualification
  • Valid SIA Licence
  • Manual handling training
  • MIDAS training
  • Level 2 qualification in Customer Care (or willingness to achieve this within 12 months).

Contract Type – Bedford College Professional Services Ltd (BCPS Ltd)

40 hours per week (1.0 FTE) / 52 weeks per year

25 holiday per annum, pro rata

An Enhanced DBS check will be required and you will be required to declare any convictions, cautions, reprimands or final warnings, which would not be filtered in line with current guidance.
