Birmingham Metropolitan College is a large, diverse and dynamic multi-site college, committed to improving opportunity, inclusivity and economic prosperity in the Greater Birmingham region.

We have approx. 16,000 learners and three main campuses based in Birmingham; James Watt College, Matthew Boulton College and Sutton Coldfield College. Our broad, vibrant curriculum offer includes full-time courses; A Levels and vocational qualifications, access to higher education, part-time adult professional development, entry level and recreational courses as well as full and part-time degree level study.

We have high aspirations to further develop our status as a lead College in the region known for delivering outstanding education and employment outcomes for all, being a great place to work and becoming financially strong.

We have made significant changes to our leadership and management at board and executive levels over the last 2 years and this has made a huge impact during this period. We have a strong senior leadership team and our staff are positively embracing the new culture and direction of the college. We have also made significant improvements in the financial performance of the college but we still have much work to do.

We are now seeking a strategic individual with a successful track record of senior leadership in further education who will have the presence and credibility to inspire staff, learners and external partners. Our new Principal and Chief Executive will further develop and consolidate our future strategy and lead us to our optimum goal of becoming an outstanding college. This role offers variety and challenge and would suit someone who is passionate about making a difference and realising the tremendous opportunities available to a College at the heart of the second largest city in the country with one of the biggest economies in the UK,  a strong industrial heritage and reputation for being the city of a thousand trades.
