This role aims to establish a strong college presence in our local community, seeking out and encouraging wider participation through learning, working to overcome the barriers that prevent some individuals from engaging in education and training. Our aim is to improve the life chances of unemployed residents through delivery of a community-driven, demand led programme of responsive training and support which will widen interest, motivation and aspiration in learning and help secure positive outcomes, focused on improved self-confidence, well-being, skills and employability.
Relevant successful experience of working in the community is essential along with a proven track record of supporting learners to achieve. Experience of delivering information, advice and guidance is essential. Previous experience of teaching is desirable.
Candidates should have a good standard of education including Maths & English Grade A*-C (or equivalent) or Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are key along with a commitment to promoting and supporting learning and achievement of all learners.
