Construction Technician - Brick

Full time (37hrs per week for 52wks per year), permanent

Salary; £17,525 per annum

Location; Rotherham College, Rotherham

 

The Role

This role is crucial to be effective running of the construction centre in which our staff help transform the lives of our learners and local community through excellent teaching and learning.

In this role you will be responsible for providing a workshop support service and ensuring the effective utilisation, general care, maintenance and security of materials and equipment used in workshops. 

You will ensure Health and Safety is always maintained, as well as providing a service to teaching staff to assist them in the delivery of learning programmes.

Working as part of our curriculum-based team you will be involved in carrying out general preparatory works for student projects and to assist our learners by breaking down student work including projects and reclaim materials.

 

Have you got what it takes?

We are looking for someone with recent industry experience within Brickwork/construction and/or who has worked in a similar role previously.

You will have at least a level 1 formal qualification in a construction trade (preferably Construction Skills) and possess a full GCSE (or equivalent) in English and maths.

Ideally you will have extensive, up to date knowledge of Health and Safety and be able to operate a forklift truck.
