Technician - Carpentry

Milton Keynes College are looking for a workshop technician to provide support to our students, Carpentry teams and manage the workshops inventory.

As a technician you will be qualified in level 2 or above in Carpentry and woodwork and be able to support our students in practical activities.

This vacancy would suit a qualified professional trade’s technician, with an interest in education.

The ideal candidate will have good industry knowledge and able to share their experiences with our students and guide them throughout their courses.

Location: Chaffron Way Campus
Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Salary: Up to £20,000 per annum

As a successful candidate you will have…

  • Hold a relevant qualification (level 2 or above) in Carpentry and woodwork
  • Have experience of managing stock/resources effectively
  • Experience in wood machining to prepare materials for the curriculum delivery
  • Have experience of providing a professional customer service to both internal and external customers
  • Have experience of working with students who may have little experience of education and training
  • Have good IT skills and willing to develop further
  • Show accuracy and precision in written presentation
