It’s an exciting time to be joining Swindon College!
We are a progressive medium sized general further education college based in the centre of Swindon with great links to London, Reading and Bristol. We offer one of the widest ranges of full-time courses in the area with a mix of learning and training; preparing students both for employment and for university study.
Our vision is to be a sustainable and inclusive college and one that truly supports our fast developing community.
With energetic new leadership, solid finances and renewed invigoration and direction, the college is now well placed for the next steps on its journey.
Head of MIS – up to 60,000
In this pivotal leadership role, you will bring dynamic leadership to the Management Information Systems department (12 staff). In addition, you'll provide advice, both strategic and operational, alongside actively reviewing current systems and practices to embed and further develop efficient ways of working. Your immediate impact will be leading on the implementation of a Centralised Timetabling system and developing the newly aligned MIS team.
You must have solid management experience in an MIS role within the FE sector, as well as being analytical and highly numerate. Confidence and the ability to interpret data needs, translate them and communicate information credibly across an organisation will be your "normal". We are looking for someone to join our friendly management team who wants to make a real impact!
There are also career opportunities with us as the College has just secured a £21 million bid for Government-backed Institute of Technology funding. In partnership with the University of Gloucestershire (and other local anchor partners), we are committed to delivering a step-change in the availability of high quality professional and technical education in advanced manufacturing and engineering, life sciences, digital technologies and creative media.
Closing date for applications: Sunday 12 May 2019
Interviews will be held at the college on Thursday 23 May 2019 and Thursday 30 May 2019
