Sessional Lecturer - HE Criminology and Social Justice

University Centre Croydon is seeking a highly motivated, student-focused sessional lecturer with good subject knowledge, ICT and administrative skills, to teach on our BA (Hons) Criminology, Psychology & Social Justice programme at Level 4 and 5.

Applicants should have a first degree and postgraduate qualification in criminology or related discipline. A background in a related profession would be an advantage including subject knowledge of social justice. We are seeking an individual who is able to deliver the Level 5 module of Drugs Crime and Social Justice (Semester 1; Tuesdays), the Level 4 module Crime and the Criminal Justice System (Semester 1; Wednesdays) and another Level 4 module in Semester 2 (Wednesdays).

In addition applicants should have completed, or be working towards, a PGCE/ DTLLS, or equivalent teaching qualification. Candidates should also be able to evidence effective teaching, learning and assessment up to Honours degree level and have successful experience of setting high quality undergraduate assessments. Knowledge of social science programmes, as well as tutoring experience, is preferred.

The successful candidate will need to be able to teach in a combination of online and in-person lecture settings and be enthusiastic, highly organised and flexible. Good interpersonal skills, a willingness to work collaboratively within a small team, and the ability to provide high quality student support are essential.
