An exciting opportunity has emerged to appoint a Temporary Payroll Officer to join a small and very busy pay, reward and pensions team within the HR Department at Activate Learning, based at City of Oxford College in Oxford City Centre until the 31st July 2021. In this role, you will support for the team in the efficient running of the organisation’s monthly payrolls circa 3,000 employees with varying sets of terms and conditions.
An important part of the role will be to provide professional payroll advice and guidance to all staff within the colleges, Activate Apprenticeships and Activate Learning Education Trust (schools). You will be responsible for administering all payrolls across the group in accordance with operating procedures and deadlines and ensuring accuracy of the payroll by double checking information input. You will process starter and leaver requests, processing pay/expense claims and statutory/voluntary deductions and to support with pension administration and reporting. You will provide excellent customer service by ensuring all queries and issues are resolved in a professional and timely manner whilst maintaining strict confidentially over employee data and information.
What do you need to be successful in this role?
To be considered for this role you must have proven knowledge and ability to use a range of computer packages, including Microsoft Office and HRIS systems and ideally have previous experience of working within a busy payroll/financial/administrative or customer facing environment. You should possess good communication skills, have excellent attention to detail and numeracy, with the ability to prioritise your workload.
This is a varied, busy and demanding role which also requires excellent customer service, organisational and administration skills. You will play a key part in promoting the organisation, therefore a personable, helpful and friendly manner is crucial to ensuring our staff receive the best experience possible.
